Floral thanks

I’ve been waiting for spring to come lately so working with floral papers helps me think spring just a little bit early.

100_9403

I used the same papers as the thanks card here from yesterday.

100_9404

I layered three of the floral die cuts and layered them over a die cut leaf and a foil sticker that I stamped with a thanks sentiment.

100_9405

I love the ease of the coordinating die cuts.

100_9406

For this card I used some foam to give the card an extra layer of depth.

100_9407

The best part about this foam is that it is super soft and flexible so it should squish relatively flat for mailing but pop right back up.

What have you been doing to think spring?

Floral thanks

I know I always seem to get lots of requests for thank you cards so they are something that I try to make often.  Here is my latest thanks card.

100_9401

After Christmas I found a great paper pack with floral and vintage inspired prints that was on clearance.  I loved it so much I bought the cardstock pad, the scallop edge pack, the die cut floral pad and two packs of accents all in the same line.  It is the Flea Market line by Colorbok.  I think I was some of this at either Big Lots or Tuesday Morning so you may be able to find some on clearance or at a local discount store.

This thanks cards is the first of what I am sure is going to be many cards made from this line of paper and accessories.

 100_9402

The rhinestone thanks has a lot more shine to it than I was able to capture in my pictures.  You might remember the thanks as one of the other deals I snagged after Christmas as well.

Have you found any crafty deals lately?

No scissors required

I can’t believe it has been about a week since my last post.  I’m still trying to find time to be creative while working full time.  I just haven’t been crafting but made myself make something new to share today.

I made a black, white and cream card with one of the new the stamp and die sets I ordered online a couple weeks ago.  I love the chair and chandelier and am so happy that I didn’t have to cut them out with scissors!

100_9398

I didn’t stamp the inside of this card yet but think it would be a great birthday, thinking of you or even an anniversary card.

100_9399

I absolutely love the matching dies to give the stamps the perfect outline.

 100_9397

What do you think, would you have cut out these images by hand?  No?  Me neither but I can’t wait to stamp and die cut out more of these.

Hope your day is a creative one.

$3 Thursday – sign of the time

I haven’t really had time to craft much but I did snap a few pictures of valentine decor I have around our apartment.   Most of the items are from last year but a few are new and most were made for $3 or less.

100_9372

A chipboard album I covered and made into an accordion display.

100_9373

Quick and simple game pieces wishing hugs and kisses -  XO XO.  I forget the name of the game that these came from, it has only X, O or blank on the dice.

100_9374

Decorated tags attached to more accordion folded cardstock.

100_9376

Scrabble tiles with a valentine sentiment.

  100_9377

Yes I still have up our gingerbread houses.  I went all out and made a Cookie Crisp wall as well as a cereal tile roof, Carmel Fiber One I believe.

100_9378

Another gingerbread house, a bit simpler than the loaded one above.

100_9375

I love these little trees I bought last fall, they make cute seasonal trees.

  100_9381

I have a trio of these frames from the dollar spot of Target last year.  The layered hearts were from the dollar spot as well.  I love seeing what kind of inexpensive seasonal items they have, you can find some great items to craft with for a dollar.

100_9382

I’ve changed out the insert in this frame for just about every season.  I download this love verse from The Girl Creative.  Please check out her blog here if you want to download this for yourself.

100_9383

I’ve kept this message on my chalkboard for a couple months, the sentiment still speaks to me.

100_9387

More game tiles.  You can see a bit of the large jar I have of various game pieces.

100_9386

I still love the stamped balls I made last year although this year they are not a jar of balls of last year!

100_9385

I couldn’t resist snapping a picture of the pink to red part of my ribbon jars.  I had hoped I would have used more of this ribbon by now but I’m still glad I organized some of my ribbon and fibers in jars that make a pretty display.

100_9268

And what appears to be my most popular valentine item, mini ornate frames.  I noticed that they were pinned over 100 times!  I have a feeling that I should have had stock in Michaels over these…. :)

100_9384

And to not have all the signs be valentine related, a Be Kind message that I think is a good motto.

I hope you enjoyed a little peak to the signs of valentine items in our apartment.

Oh my, new crafts supplies…

Maybe I should say new craft supplies from Oh My Crafts!

Yesterday when I got home from my first day at a new job I was happy to see two packages, the Mark Montano book I won and a order of crafty goodness I placed last week.

I’ve seen the name Oh My Crafts! around for quite a while but only recently went to their website and did some looking which quickly lead to shopping.

I’m happy to tell you that I was very happy to find some great deals on items I’ve wanted and a few that I didn’t know I needed until I saw them. :)  I found lots of great items and didn’t spend too much money.  Just so you know, these are all my opinions, I’m not getting anything but joy from sharing my craft finds with you.

The first think I found that I knew I had to buy was this stamp and die cut set.

100_9317

And this one.  There were a couple other ones that I liked too but I thought I’d use these two the most.

100_9318

The best part about the sets was that one was $12 and one was $14.99 – they are priced $25.99 in my local craft store.  Even if I had a 40% off coupon I couldn’t get them for those prices.

Then I fell in love with these pleated paper pieces from Bazzill.  At only 99 cents each I picked up three colors.

100_9320

I know these Cuttlebug dies are a bit older but at $.19 to $.99 I couldn’t pass them up.  Yep you read that right one of these dies was only $.19!  They were $.19, $.29, $.39 and $.99 each.

100_9321

I think I might have found a bad site for me since I love scrounging around and finding crafty deals and my stash, supplies don’t need new additions.

I can’t wait to craft with my new supplies.

Thanks Mark

Last week I was lucky enough to win a giveaway on Mark Montano blog.  I won his Big-Ass Book of Crafts 2 and a complete set of Krylon’s Glitter Blast.  I was very excited when I found out I won and can’t believe the book arrived so fast.  The paint will come later so I get another surprise later.

Here’s the book if you haven’t heard or seen it:

100_9309

One of the best parts – it’s got a personal message from Mark.

100_9310

After just glancing through the book I found a couple crafts that really stood out to me like this cardboard vase.  I recently pinned something similar.

100_9311

How fun is the wiffle ball pencil holder?  I wonder if I’d get strange looks if I made it and took it to my new job?

100_9314

And in case you are looking for something a bit more eclectic or kitsch, how about a baby head night light?

100_9315

I can’t wait to really sit down and go through this book and see all the fun and funky crafts.  Want one of your own?  You can purchase the book at most book stores or follow Mark’s blog for a chance to win your own.  I think he has giveaways every other week.  Plus you get a peak at his craftiness with all the projects he features on his blog.

I know I’ve been a bit sporadic in my postings since I haven’t been too crafty lately and I’m afraid it might get even more sporadic now that I started working outside the home again.  I’m hoping to find a good balance of work and craft.

Thanks,

June
