A good idea gone bad

OK, I admit it.  Sometimes think I can do things better than I actually can.
I'm going to show you one of my failures.

It started out with a box of dried flowers I rescued from my sister.
I was sure I could use them.
I had a few ideas.
I tried one last night.
I didn't think it looked too bad.
Then this morning came.
I looked at my creation with fresh eyes.
It was not pretty.
Not even a bit.

OK, well maybe a little bit if you look at it real close with your eyes partly closed
and you focus on the pitcher and not the flower.
Then maybe it is not so bad.

Look at it a bit more from a but further away.   Not good but maybe not terrible.

OK, it is downright terrible.

This is awful.  I can't believe I made this and I showed it to you.
What was I thinking?

I really thought when I rescued a box of dried flowers that I could make something beautiful with them.
I used all of the flowers that had stems and some of the loose ones.
There is still a lot of loose flowers left in the box.
Here they are.
Please ignore the kidney shaped container some of them are in,
that is how they came to me.

Looking at all this junk potential I wonder.....
Should I take another attempt with the flowers or call it a failure?
I think the flowers may have seen their day,
and it was not at my house. :)

My other ideas for the flowers were to display a few of them in a frame or cover a twine ball.

Hmm, maybe I should just give up now.

What would you do?

  1. It's not that bad! Really!! If you have a free moment, I have a new weekly (I hope!) Linky on my blog called Not “Baaad” Sundays with LambAround. I’d love for you to post one of your projects :)
